Decorchick!

Hey Hey Hey, Guess What?!!

I was interviewed!!  YESSSS!!  Oh, I guess you want to know by who right?  By Megan over at Modern Bird Studios, that’s who!  So if you would like a little Friday humor and know a little bit more about me, click HERE to see the interview on their blog.

I’m sure you have heard about them, but if not, they create the most awesome art from photos.  I’ve really never seen anything like it and think they are totally awesome.  Check them out!

Thanks so much Megan for choosing me.  I am quite ecstatic if you can’t tell yet by all my exclamation marks!  :)

Reminder, my giveaway ends Saturday morning, so be sure and enter here for the chance to win a $50 Visa gift card.  All of y’alls comments have really cracked me up!  :)

xxoo,

WOO HOO EMILY! :) What a fantastic interview! You should be so proud of yourself and all you’ve done with this beautiful blog! You’re so talented. :) But I have to add my two cents about the “y’all” thing — don’t you think it would be weird if a true Minnesotan (accent and all) said “y’all?” I think I’d get some bizarre looks if I tried it. Haha! :)

    • Decorchick! says

      July 30, 2010 at 11:54 am

Aww Amanda thank you so much!!

Oh, I think it would be even better if a Minnesotan said y’all. Try it out, you’ll start a trend. :)

Congrats on your TDC feature with the Snapple bottles!! Sooo cute!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

How could you NOT with these gorgeous colorings?! A red and blue Merle are so unique, and they are the sweetest!🐶🐶

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
