Decorchick!

I was featured…and big thank you’s!!

I have to give a big shout out to 2 of my friends who have amazing blogs, for recently featuring me!   I was just over the moon on both occasions (and still am)!

Last week, Allison over at House of Hepworths featured me and even wrote an entire post dedicated to just me!!  How sweet is that?!  Allison is one of the nicest people I’ve met (over the internet, but I know she will be really nice in person too) and she put up with my 100 questions and really helped me out before I started up my blog.  If you haven’t been to her site, please visit it and follow her.  You are missing out if you don’t.  She is hilarious and is SO crafty it kills me!!  So Allison, I’m sending BIG hugs your way and want you to know that I really appreciate you.

Then on Monday of this week, my cheese dome cloche project was featured on Creating a House of Grace!!  Helloooo??  How awesome is that?!  And I was given the Twice Owned Queen Award!  I made sure and told my husband that I was a Queen too.  Thank you sooo much Bonnie!  I just know Bonnie has a heart of gold from her posts and I love it when I see she’s got a new post up.  She has great home decor ideas as well as health and beauty tips.  So please go and check out her site and follow her!

Thank you again ladies.  It was such an honor to be featured on your sites and I’m very appreciative.

I’ve added a “Featured” tab to my navigation bar and that’s where the buttons will be. :)

Lastly, I would also like to thank a great friend of mine, Betty, for always encouraging me.  She sent me this message the other day and it really meant something to me.  She said “Start setting up that camera and get comfy with the lens…you never know where God will take you.”

Isn’t that beautiful?  It immediately went up on my chalkboard. :)  But she hit it spot on.  We never know where He will take us, but we can anticipate what He has in store for us.

Thanks Betty, love you!

xxoo,

2 months later, and it’s still hard. So very har 2 months later, and it’s still hard. So very hard. It is the strangest, most emptiest feeling one could have, and one that not everyone understands.

Tonight was the 3rd griefshare meeting that I’ve attended, and that does help to be around others who have lost someone close. But it is also so painful hearing their stories. And it’s a night during the week that I’m forced to think about how he’s no longer here. It’s helped me to realize all of the thoughts and actions we have are normal, and the things we do that are odd to others, are actually part of the process.

I haven’t been able to wear these shirts of his yet (he wore them every single day. The red one was his “fancy” one), but I’m glad I have them. It’s just really crappy I can’t see him in them any longer. 💔

This is a pain like no other. I watched him take This is a pain like no other.

I watched him take his final breath at 7:24 this morning. The scent of him is still so palpable.

Gone too soon, and years stolen from his wife and grandkids.

We live in the same small neighborhood, right around the corner on the next street. Now the girls can’t ride their 4-wheelers to go see him. We can’t just swing by to pick him up. He can’t go on our walks anymore. There are lots of no-longers, and it is crushing my heart.

Who am I going to call now when I have a question on how to fix something? He had a solution for everything usually saving us hundreds of dollars. Everything was fixable to him, rather than hiring someone. And often he would find the answer on YouTube.

Who am I going to text with when the Astros make a good or bad play during the next World Series?

I want to hear his voice again. I want to go over and cut his hair again. I want to make him another pie for his birthday and Father’s Day.

It hurts so much.

I love you Daddy.
