Just Say NO!!

Well, guess where we are headed this afternoon? <cough cough>

To sit at the 90 minute presentation so we can claim our cruise and airplane tickets! Hahaha.

After my post the other day about the vacation timeshares, y’alls comments were just a little too encouraging for me so I got on the phone and made our appointment. Some of you had terrible experiences, some of you had joyful ones.  I’m hoping for the latter today. :)

Regardless, even if it’s a total bust, I’m curious to see how this all goes down anyway.  Everyone should sit through one 90-minute presentation that will end up being 3 or 4 hours at least once in their life right?  And today’s the day!   I’ve been practicing all week all of the different ways to say no, no, and NO.  It should come pretty easy for me.  As for my husband, I might have to kick him under the table a few times to agree with me. :)  My husband also said he’s going to record part of it and make a better show than Doug and Carrie. Hahaha!

So be sure and follow me on Twitter and Facebook if you aren’t already, because you know, of course I’ll be doing some social media action in the midst of all this.  Surely I won’t get in trouble.  We’ll either come out dancing or crying, and you’ll be the first to know.

xxoo,

Decorchick!

UGH, good luck. I got a sinking feeling in my stomach when I read this because it brought me back to our honeymoon and getting suckered into one of these at the airport and wasting 1/2 the day. If only I could go back and get that time back!

Aw, you’ll be fine. I loved the plan to time the 90 minutes out and when it’s over, be firm and say, “We’ve held up our end…”.

While you’re earning a cruise, Hubs and I will be sitting in a 90 minute Direct Buy spiel. Here’s hoping BOTH turn out the way we’d like!

You are a very brave soul. I’m sure the phrase “What part of NO do you not understand!” would come out of my mouth at some point. Good luck!

2 labradoodle puppies were NOT on my 2026 vision board, but here we are.🥰

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
