My Numbered Flower Pots!

Remember these pots I found at the thrift store recently?  Well part of sprucing up my front porch included painting them.  I haven’t done the small pots yet…those are for inside the house, I think.

So I painted them Rustoleum satin black.  I don’t have pictures of that because that is pretty self explanatory. :)

But here’s the fun part!  Since everyone seems to be putting numbers on just about anything, I decided to be a follower of that trend too.  What do the numbers mean?  I have no idea, but they are super cute!

I didn’t have any vinyl (see, I really need to win that Silhouette!), so I just decided to use my artistry skills (which are lacking) and just paint on the numbers with an artist brush and some white craft paint.

Isn’t that cute??  Then I did the second pot.

There are some weird shadows on there and not sure why.  It’s not smeared paint I promise.

So here’s another shot because I know everyone likes pictures.

A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E!  See, who needs vinyl?! :)

Now I need to go plant my flowers in there so I can finish up the porch.  :)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

If they are high enough and near your front, it’d be neat to put do your house numbers, maybe one number on each pot.

      June 26, 2010 at 6:08 pm

I was going to do something with our house numbers but decided against it since it’s right by our real house numbers.

Those came out so cute! You did a great job hand painting them. You don’t need any stinking Silhouette. I, on the other hand reaaaally need it :) I’m too shaky. Have you seen the number of entries? Boy, I’d pass out if I won!

    • Decorchick! says

      June 26, 2010 at 7:21 pm

Ha thanks Anita! Yes, I cannot believe the number of entries. I think I would pass out too if I won!!

Okay — how cute are these!?! And I’m super impressed with your painting skills — I’ve tried free-hand before and well — let’s just say I too need a silhouette! Haha! But I love your project — it turned out beautiful!

Thanks so much Amanda! It was fun and I almost went a little “free-hand ” crazy in other places of the house today, but I got a hold of myself. :)

Okay, those are CUTE! I’ve seen the flower pots with the house numbers painted on them and arranged on someone’s front porch. I might try it!

Yep, those are cute too! I’ve seen some chalkboard ones too with a few address numbers, but I don’t want to keep moving them in and out each time it rains. But if you keep them inside that’s a different story! :)

See, you only need vinyl (like me) if you are not talented (like you). Awesome job! You did a greta job painting, the pots are soooo adorable now! I have no idea what the numbers are for either, but maybe a bit of whimsy? I numbered some coasters and just today, numbered two toy buckets. Just a little change, and such a big change, know what I mean? I might copy your pots… ;)

    • Decorchick! says

      July 4, 2010 at 9:07 am

Oh I bet the coasters and buckets are adorable numbered! I still need to get some vinyl! I think a craft machine is going on my Christmas list. :)
