More Thrifty Finds

Went to a local resale shop and scored all of these old mason jars!

This one is particularly old with the off-centered “Perfect Mason” and original zinc lid.

Who knows, maybe this jar is worth loads of cash and I can retire my husband.   Yea, I know that’s unlikely but it’s ok for me to dream right?  I have an idea for a project with this jar in my head, so let’s just hope it comes out right.

Then I found this whole bag of old buttons for $5!  There are some really cool vintage ones in there too.

Need a button for anything?  Just come to my house. :)

I saw this little wooden drawer for $1 that came home with me also.

And then a few old beat up books with plenty of worn edges.  I may do something with these books too. :)

And that’s it!!

Have y’all found any good treasures lately?  Thrifting is so fun.  I really get an adrenaline rush!

Also, check out my first sponsor Wired Whimsy, for some beautiful jewelry!!  She has something for everyone.  :)

xxoo,

Decorchick!

Those are great finds…love the buttons! I just posted some of my recent thrift finds too but none are antiques. I have purchased a couple of old mason jars as well. Still kicking myself for not picking up one I saw at a garage sale a few weeks ago for $3. Don’t ask me what I was thinking :-(

Yep the tags are a dead giveaway. I asked them to keep them on there since they normally take them off. Ha.

      Thank you!

Ooh, I can’t wait to see what you do with those jars! I saw the EXACT same ones with the metal hanger things yesterday at the thrift store. I picked them up but then put them back becuase I didn’t have ANY idea of what to do with them — so I can’t wait to see yours! :)

I can’t wait to see what you do with the mason jars. I use to collect them, but stopped when I had so many I didn’t know what to do with them. I will have to dig some out of my basement and get ready.

I love the buttons. When I was little I would play with my great grandma’s jar of buttons, and to this day, I still collect buttons because it reminds me of her:)

I love your finds. Yours look a lot like my treasures. I picked up some jars at an estate yard sale a month ago. They were the really big blue ones with the zinc lids for $1 a piece. AWESOME price. I also have a thing for buttons and old wooden drawers.

FYI…the lids on the blue Mason Jars are TIN with ceramic inlay.

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
