Have you heard of Polyvore before? I hadn’t until recently. It’s an online site that lets you create design and fashion boards, for free! There are thousands of pieces already uploaded on Polyvore’s site, so you won’t have a problem finding anything to create your own board, but you can still upload your own things too, if you wish.
You can create a beautiful room like this….
Or a chic outfit like this, with a little bit of spooky added.
I didn’t create these boards but I liked them.
Polyvore is a great way to design a room in your home first, without making the commitment to buying something, then figuring out you don’t like it or it doesn’t work in your home. You can play around with super expensive furniture and create a lovely room, then go out and try to recreate that room finding more budget friendly items that are similar in style. Fun stuff!
I’ve been playing around creating a dream room using Polyvore and will show you all on Friday.
Now I am not a computer savvy gal, and even I can do this. It really intimidated me at first, but AnNicole from Our Suburban Cottage has a great post on how to get you started using Polyvore. I’ve read that post about 50 times now I think. I promise it’s easy once you get the hang of it. Just follow her instructions to a T, then you can start creating and dreaming. Warning though, it’s slightly addictive. :)
Do you use Polyvore? Have you heard of it before? There are other sites out there too with the same concept.
Don’t forget to enter the giveaway from Simple Fit HERE to win your own custom window shade!

I love Polyvore! I could NEVER keep my kids clothes organizied withouth it.. now I know what peices they have and what size.. no more guessing or diggin through all those bins to check on the next season!
Oh wow, you are on the ball!!
I don’t Polyvore but I did just start making mood boards. I’m a photographer so I find Photoshop intuitive (which is weird) – so I used that instead.

I love that mood board you created. Love those colors together.
Indeed. I use polyvore for outfits and for mood boards. They’re easy to make and easy to share. Not to mention there are tons of awesome ones to browse.
I know, so fun!
How funny! I just discovered it the other day and was going to post about it! I wasted so much time playing around with it the other day! So fun.
Oh man, I’ve been on it all day. Got absolutely nothing accomplished.
last night i was telling hubby how i wish i knew the place where everyone creates their awesome inspiration boards! thank you for sharing! I literally read your post 20 minutes ago and have already created mine for hub’s office! thx again
Oh perfect timing! I didn’t know what everyone used either. And I’m not sure of the other things that are like Polyvore, but know they exist. Have fun creating!
I just heard the term the other day and had no idea what it was . This sounds like fun. I may have to go check it out. Thanks Hugs, Marty
Oh it’s a lot of fun. Watch out!
That is a pretty nice thing to have on hand….I actually just use Adobe Illustrator and create storyboards with it. So, when I surf the net and find a pic of a piece of furniture, color, fabric, etc that I like, I put it on my board for the my vision room that I am aiming for. This immediately helps me to see whether or not it’s going to work for me. The nice thing about the polyvore thing is that you don’t have to go far to find inspiration.
I haven’t used the Adobe thing. This is a whole new world for me! But yea, I found so many things on Polyvore. So cool!
I love Polyvore! I didn’t know you could do rooms too!!!
Yes, very addicting.
NO I haven’t hear of Polyvore!! WOW that is soooo cool. Thanks for passing this on.
Watch out, you’ll be addicted!
Wow – this sounds great – thanks! I can’t wait to try it!
No problem! Have fun!
No I don’t Polyvore, but I am going to go check it out! Thanks for the tip. You cracked me up when you said you read that post 50 times! Too funny
Ha, I really did!
I love Polyvore! Once I get started I cant stop. You have to go to http://us.mydeco.com/design/ You can also make moodboards, design a 3D room based on your floor plan with real products from the site. And you can re-decorate a room with paint wallpaper and flooring. It’s free too!
oh wow, I’ll have to check that out too! Thanks!!
I totally was sucked into this for hours the other day. I love it.
ha, me too!
I love polyvore, though sometimes it can be so frustrating. I may have to go back and play around though!
Here’s my new (can’t find the old) account, we could maybe get a small group of bloggers on polyvore together!

Hi would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?
I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design seems different then most blogs and I’m looking
for something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
I’m curious to find out what blog system you happen to
be utilizing? I’m experiencing some minor security issues with my latest blog
and I’d like to find something more risk-free. Do you have any solutions?
Howdy! I could have sworn I’ve visited this site before
but after looking at some of the posts I realized it’s new to me.
Anyways, I’m certainly delighted I discovered it and
I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back often!
