An Easy Solution to My Dead Plants

Well I let my other plants on the front porch go to pot too (hehe get it?)

So in order to fix that, here is what I did.

I took some moss and pretended it was hay, some fake Fall leaves, sat a pumpkin on top, tied a ribbon, and called it a masterpiece.

Brilliant right? :)

Oh yea, and this other little pot got a new friend because the plant was dead as well.

Fancy smancy, and no proof of previous plant life is even noticeable.

Nothing huge, but at least it’s an improvement from what was there. Oh yea, and it was free!  Yay! :)

P.S. – I still haven’t put anything in the big red planters from when I killed the trees, in case you were wondering.  I think any living plant should be afraid to come take up residence at our house.

Slime mold and Japanese beetles killed all of the plants and bushes in my front flower beds. Last year I removed everything. I still haven’t replanted it. Hmmm…maybe three giant pumpkins in pots? I can do that :)

Very festive! How about a pumpkin topiary for your red pots? Stack two or three, you could even paint your house # on them.

I’m the worst with plants- I feel so sorry for any that come home with me! But I like your masterpiece- very creative!! My porch has three pretty, but completely undecorated pumpkins sitting on it. Jimmy said he expected more- ha!

Great solution! The dead plants around here are lining up begging for a make over. It’s sad how I move to FL and my green thumb turned brown.

Love what you did, those masterpieces should last awhile right? Think I am going to try that, since I kill my potted plants too. Even with a watering can RIGHT next to it, shame on me.

GREAT idea! I sure wish you would do something with that big red pot because I have the same EXACT pot, probably just different dead plants. Would love to see how you dress it up for the season.

Great idea, since I kill every plant I get my hands on. But since I didn’t have any planters, my dead plants are in the ground and require pullling… at some point… maybe today ;)

It was my first time going with Randy to one of hi It was my first time going with Randy to one of his gigs. This wasn’t just any gig though. It was a very special wedding for a beautiful couple.❤️

And after witnessing firsthand what all he does for events like this, I have a new appreciation for what he does because it is a LOT.🤯

From loading in setting up three PA systems in 3 separate areas, then immediately switching gears to performance mode and playing ceremony music + sax, dinner music + MC’ing, then reception DJ’ing + sax. It was really pretty freaking mind-blowing to be honest. And then you have to tear it all down! Talk about a full day (I felt hungover the next day and I don’t even drink), but if you are in the entertainment business you get it. And he does this multiple times a month!

So many moving parts, and being flexible when you need to switch gears at the last minute, and he handles it with so much ease. That’s why he’s the professional at his craft.🫶

I was just there more as his emotional support person, but would love to do more events with him where I’m actually useful. 🤪Maybe I’ll learn to wrap up cords the right way one day to his liking, but that’s doubtful. 🤣

It was the perfect new year’s day and can’t wait to do it again!❤️

Congrats @claudine.said and @chefaustinsimmons it was a JOY witnessing your special day.

3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔 Does life mo 3 years without Daddy and Pawpaw💔

Does life move on?

Yes, but not without a hazy fog lingering over you that never fully lifts.

Not without the deep ache in your heart longing for more time.

Not without reaching for your phone wanting to call or text.

Not without the family gatherings knowing someone is missing, even though no one mentions it.

Not without crying when you think of him or look at old photos.

I still cannot talk about him without tearing up. Certain songs or sayings break me.

After losing a parent, everything looks different. Time with your family begins to feel more intentional, because you want the moments to last.

The hustle feels less important, because you realize your people matter more than any dollar amount.

Grief and gratitude can coexist. It’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to be thankful for a dad who is worth missing.❤️
